Things the game doesn't tell you but you should know: 1)The battle area is substantially larger than what you see. Enemies spawn a ways out, and you can hit them long before you can see them. Thus setting off cluster bombs and nuclear bombs near the edge can help a lot. 2) Duration of freeze and rapid fire are based on when the item drops, not when you pick it up, so pick them up as soon as you can. 3) Supply depots DO NOT follow you to the next zone. They have to be upgraded from scratch every time. Still worth it IMO. 4) You can upgrade your outbuildings. 5) The game's difficulty does not progress in a linear manner, so just because you pwned the last 5 waves doesn't mean you are strong enough for the next--but do save up and skip upgrade levels on the main gun.
Nice aesthetic, simple but reasonably entertaining. A good way to waste up to a half hour. 3/5. By the way, is it actually possible to beat Pete? I can't manage it with 2000k stamina and a liver that's nearly destroyed(and not even my first).
Thanks! And no, you cannot beat Pete. His liver is basically made from rum since he's a pirate, so he doesn't feel alcohol like other mortals. That is pretty much just there so you can test out how good you can get and rack up a high score for drinks
It appears that the Titanic may in fact have been sunk by this new breed of saltwater piranha. Overall, the game was too short and still glitchy, so a bit of a let down from the prior version.
Easiest level of the game: Survival mode. Really, the hardest thing about most of the levels is keeping your enemies alive long enough to get the golden scarabs, so a stage where I can slaughter at will... well, I beat the golden scarab amount by 1000 the first try on survival.
I'd give the game a higher rating if the attempts to get you to spend cash were less intrusive. I don't object to them making money, but interrupting me 4 times every time I log in to ask me to buy something is a bit too much. OTOH, the prissy way the pirates walk amuses me greatly, and I've been playing games by this guy since the original King's Bounty, long before the series was renamed Heroes of Might and Magic.
The final level is almost unbeatable--not because of the difficulty of the level but because of how incredibly glitchy it is. I'm sorry, but having a nearly unplayable level because you didn't do enough quality control lowers your rating by a star for me. In case you wish to try to rectify the problem, I am using Google Chrome.
