The best strategy is brute force. When i started playing i was trying to make armor when walking, keys when at chests, swords while fighting. Much better to just make horizontal matches of anything at the bottom of the board, this will often result in comboes. Speed kills.
The game is pretty easy and can be beaten without grinding. Just don't level up any of your crew (or level a few up to level 2) and you should have enough money to upgrade the ship before the final level.
@slugrider, i have to agree that Reflective Shield ought to reflect damage from Nightmare, but as it stands, the shield only reflects direct damage from spells which target the player (ice lance, fire bolt, drain life, lightning) and damage dealt by creatures that deal spell damage (psion, immaterial creatures with shard of wisdom). I was surprised the first time someone cast poison on me and it wasn't reflected by a Mirror Shield, but i suppose that might be overpowered.
As far as the "indestructable thing (white)" i have no clue what card that is.
What are the minimum system requirements? I can play the "light" version (http://www.kongregate.com/games/capricorngames/jumping-line-light) just fine, but this one crashes before it even loads.
This was a fun game and a nicely presented story. The one thing that kinda bugged me was how you needed to use up resources for fuel for the little mining robot yet you could fly your big spaceship around for free.
Weird. I was doing something in another window then i came back and was awarded the hard badge. My high score shows up as 462,513 in the kong high score list, but in the game and the .sol file my high score is only 341051
Oh and forgot to say, you should have an option to buy multiple arrows at once, because i was buying 7000 at a time by the end and it would have been impractical without an autoclicker.
Just finished game with full archer build. Highlite was at end of the cave where you learn swimming, just when i thought i would survive the final room i ran out of arrows. Only had the ice arrows etc from chests. Managed to tank enough mobs and got out alive with 36 out of 900 hp and less than a dozen fire arrows. My heart was pounding.
Kinda hard for an archer since the cheapest arrows cost 3 apiece. Maybe you could have an arrow that is +0 dmg that only costs one so the player could start using bow sooner. As it was i used sword until level 26 or so then bought the second best bow and was still only just better than breaking even on cash with arrow expenses. Also frustrating not to be able to wear robin's ring since the slot is occupied with arrows.
Extremely fun to be able to sneak onto a screen, snipe a choice target, pop off to drop the aggro and repeat until you have half the screen and can just release machine gun fire style arrows into the remaining creeps.
Final build: level 70ish everything in dex, bow skills and gold gathering (for arrow expenses).

make automatic actions (like no discard when you dont have full hand) automatic -- unless there is an unseen reason like cards that can make you take damage based on # of cards in hand.... More generally, highlight the button at end of turn or on "obvious" actions. This is my suggestion to make for improved playability as sometimes i sit there not realizing what to do (beginner)
