i was expecting to have to max all upgrades for the final level. Some advice: you don't. When you are planning, you may want to consider that the next from last upgrade in each 'category' (or even less) may be sufficient for completion. Good luck!
@Lockstep80 i think its more like a leap on the scale of a quantum. Going from 1 to 2 may not seem like much but when you zoom in it appears to be moving infinitely fast, skipping by all the real numbers between 1 and 2 like when an electron changes energy shells.
Sometimes when my magic rabbit dies (last time was from stone rain) it doesnt fully disappear. The image is gone, but still shows up on mouseover and i cannot summon new creature into the slot.
Be careful not to get to close to the edge of the map. If your control/direction marker starts a turn off of the map, your plane automatically crashes.
To get to the dais keep heading right. Its at the top of the second hill you climb.
The path to get to the switch underneath the ground starts directly down from there. If you look at the jayisgames map (z8nkbzyv's comment in the best comments) there is a path of yellow dots that you can follow.
just beat my previous high score by almost 3 million. An early purple power/yellow madness combination can make all the difference. This one is all about patience. I found straight pattern with fixed motion made for the easiest game. Good luck :)
i'd advise you (the player) to switch jump to a different key. I found for whatever reason (my guess is it has something to do with how often a held key repeats) that it was much more responsive once i switched jump from spacebar to 'z'.
As kirbyatemysoul said (a page or two back), resizing the window helps. Additionally i recommend moving the window to the lower right hand corner of the screen so that the scroll bars are off of the screen. If you have the windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen, drag it out of the way to the top. Hopefully this should minimize the impact of clicking outside of the game area.
If you do click outside or your mouse gets stuck on your mousing surface (other non-mousepad users know what i'm talking about) realize that there is a pause key ("P") that may help you get reoriented once you have re-established. I tried abusing the pause button as sort of a poor man's bullet time but it didn't prove to be very effective. It did have limited utility for changing the bullet direction.
Also try to save your bullet time for when you are switching to the opposite side or feel completely trapped. And remember to keep breathing!
Good luck :)
Made it to 2080 on impossible. First play easy to unlock achievements. Most important are cybernetic, science and maybe the shields achievement for bonus ship space. While doing this use environmentalism and monarchy or possibly democracy…
...Once you feel you've unlocked enough achievements, go to impossible mode. My picks were enviornmentalism, dictatorship, science, and cybernetic. For first three turns i moved everyone to farmer. Got population to 8.9 out of 15. If you get some combat bonuses great, but you don't need them. Now move two farmers to scientists. Research laser (physics 1). Move enough farmers over so that you do 25 points of research and get fusion missile (physics 2). This was my weapon of choice, rail gun would probably be okay if you are good at aiming and dodging simulatneously. Get rid of the guns and put a missile on. Continue adding missiles and upgrading hull size as you can afford it…
Next i moved scientists back to farming, leaving two scientists to research augmented steel (construction 1), optimized spaceships (computers 1), and strenght boost (biology 1). Population should be 15/15 now, though you probably only have 14 workers due to the bug. Researched biospheres…
…Queued up 5 biospheres and researched teleptahie (biology 2, the morale boost freed up a farmer!) and intelligence boost (biology 3). Then wireless energy transmission (computer 2), level 3 computers (any, not gonna use) + built first biosphere (year 2033-->2034), and positronic brain. Micromanaged so as to research as fast as possible without wasting research points.
Now focused on ship defense. Energy 1 (any), shield regenerators (energy 2 but never used), biological shield (energy 3). Added a shield when i had the money for it. Structure analyzer (physics 3) and Antimatter drive (energy 4).
Added structure analyzers as funds allowed...
…Construction 3 (any), Stellar Port (construction 4) Planned a stellar port in final building slot.
Transdimensional rooms (physics 4), Terkonit (phyics 5)
Biology 4 (any), Terraforming (biology 5) queued up two more stellar ports, i may have replaced one of the bioshpheres with a stellar port by now.
Artificial Biotop (construction 5, never used) and Replicators (energy 5).
Began/continued replacing biospheres with stellar ports. Researched temporal missile (computer 5). Finished replacing biospheres.
Added temporal missiles as funds allowed, replacing fusion missiles and one structural analyzer. Final ship was battleship with 5 temporal missiles, 5 structure analyzers, two biological shields.
@immrsam If you click on the inscription below the sword it says "He who wears the sacred ring shal have the strength of a warrior." You need the ring to get the sword.
Work is going on. Soon I will update this reply and game.
