LOL, actually, I just got the first half of the medium badge by shooting at the first missile then waiting for everything to be destroyed. :)
I guess playing this game on a laptop without a proper mouse is a bit silly.
Awful game. Constantly plagued by bugs and interface issues on levels 40 and above where you basically have to have everything perfect. The power glove is constantly breaking (neither clicking the icon nor pressing 1 makes it work). Sometimes you pick something up and throw it and the mouse kind of hovers on the spot like it is stuck. If you move your mouse too fast for a throw the game doesn't think you moved the mouse to the edge and the throw is wimpy. When you pick up a hut and try to immediately drop an anvil, which would be an otherwise great tactic, It tends to randomly destroy other nearby huts or sometimes drops in the background nowhere near where you clicked. Oh, apart from all that, the game is naff, boring, and not fun.
Here's my advice for the impossible badge: practice like crazy on other sites. Try to play them as far through as you can before using the space bar cheat (which doesn't work on kongregate, naturally). That way you'll learn how to start, and how to get out of those annoying end situations where it's almost but not quite right. Then, when you play here, you're looking for either levels with as few gaps as possible. If you can, keep restarting until all your gaps are surrounding 'stuck' hexes (so you know they are at least close to correct)
Oh, I agree with Maggotheart; don't have the big traffic signal and such. Just display something like "level NN, press space to continue", and when you press space, that text goes away and the new level starts approaching in the distance. More like checkpoints than level boundaries.
I really like this game. It's simple and fun. I simply can't get annoyed when I screw up, like I might in other games. It's inoffensive.
I can understand why some people might get bored after a while. It isn't the kind of game you want to play all the way through for several hours... you kinda have to take a break and come back to it.
Some ideas for a new version: challenges! And items you can pick up (a bit like meatboy or Nebulosa: you can complete the level normally, or you can complete it by trying to get all the items). That would work better if you were able to replay specific levels.
Haha, in the end I decided to try the last level by building a single tank and then spamming grenade dudes... the first time I tried it, my tank got killed almost instantly, but the second time my FIRST set of grenade dudes got all the way to the right and won.
The morale system is STUPID. I was ripping the enemy to pieces on the last level, was right up against their side, and they had NO soldiers or tanks on the screen, and I had four tanks on them. Then they used artillery two of my tanks blew because they were just on too low health. This caused my side to instantly surrender. WHAT THE HELL?
