@ fungyuenon: and what kind of business survives serving only about 10 customers a month anyway? OBVIOUSLY the individual customers are a representation of 200 or so customers each.
Another problem with this game as well as the lag is the controls. Up-Down-Left-Right is not how you control a snake in a snake game, because when you press "Up" when you're going "Down" you don't change direction. This is very unintuitive and frustrating, because your default action when heading for an unexpected obstacle is to go the exact opposite direction. Use (or at least give the option of) rotational controls instead: right arrow for clockwise, left arrow for anticlockwise.
why do the blocks start flashing after some amount of time? It's both distracting and annoying, and on my computer causes a slight lag which makes timing corners almost impossible.
Played the whole game though now; most of the levels weren't as random as some of the earlier ones. Here's a couple of things that annoyed me: after completing the game, going for the fastest times, it was very easy to return to the main menu accidentally instead of restarting. In addition, there was no indication of what level you are on now, or what level you last played once you got to the menu. Cue howls ofn frustration as I had to search for the correct level AGAIN.
Also, please don't change the numberings of the specials as you collect them. Either leave the numbers as they are once a special is collected in a level or give them each numbers: e.g. 1 is always air, two is always fire, etc.
Unfortunately this game suffers from randomitis. I tried level 13 a dozen times knowing exactly what to do, and with no timing or skill required, but the guy would fly not quite right or a piece would land awkwardly and get in the way. You should never allow players to know exactly what to do and execute it perfectly and still fail again and again and again.
Misson 4 is awful. Alphabetical order and name begins with G, without knowing any of the names? Well, you know, it's a fact that it could be ANY of them in this case.
Does this game get harder at any point? I guess I'm about 15 battles in and once, one guy hit me for more than 10 damage (I have 128 health). I haven't cast any abilities or bought any armor, and have enough money to buy the most expensive items currently in the shops 10 times over.
222 on my second attempt, definitely lost one click on the bacon level by clicking the rock instead of throwing it; lost one more click being too careful in a bubble collect level, and *might* have lost another with a random misclick, but I'm not sure. So perhaps 219 is possible.
On normal it becomes extremely unfun. After banging my head against the wall on level 5 for half an hour, I break down and look at the walkthrough for it, only to find that one of the pieces that shoots out two rays needs to be rotated to an exact pixel location that I had already discarded as a possibility becomes it seemed unlikely and completely unreasonable for the game to require that kind of precision.
Pretty good game, finding level 12 to be impossible though, because the enemy is using the same high priest + infantry strategy as me, only since they get a starting advantage...
Anyone beat level 12 yet?
Well, I've still managed to get stuck; I have some enemy engineers on the screen who are refusing to move. Clicking the calendar icon does nothing to them.
As far as I can tell, my game is uncompletable. I burned down the house before fixing the turbine, and after wandering around for what seems like hours, I looked at the walkthrough and see I need a "bear trap" to continue. I can't get one because I can't get to the turbine and Ann is gone. So, uh...?
xy8000: Constant lag is helpful. Spiky lag is not. Spiky lag can cause the game not to listen to input some time during that tenth of a second or so where you needed to press jump. That makes it literally impossible to win sometimes.
If I were to use my money to make bad upgrade choices... I would have to start the game again, right? Since, you can easily be left in a situation where there is no way of progressing because you can't get to any chest.
