Before you kill the final gate... lose some battles and train a bit.... Also you can press the back arrow at the top to reset your save to before you sent your 3 guys and spent at the shop.
2 tricks. Name yourself Kitteh for a bonus weapon that sells for good money. Also, you can reload your game in a dungeon and keep all your kills+stuff, but lose all your stress! =D
Was winning the ages with just cavemen (dino, sling, repeat) before I realized I had to manually upgrade (grr). Then spammed musketeer gunners and won.
¶ Tips: Try to advance in the tapes/notes ASAP to get more options because things can be slow early on. Buy weapons first to get lots of easy reactions so you can unlock other things faster and to get them out of the way since they can kill your zombie (which you don't want later. Last weapon: chainsaw). ¶ Minor bugs: If you use the pie/egg and Skip the reaction in the middle, the zombie will keep the pie/egg on their face. ¶ Fully Damage Specimen Achievement: 3 times each on everywhere but head - pistol, knife(+head), rifle, nailgun(+head), cross bow, machine gun. Then use the chainsaw on the body, and baseball bat to the head to knock off jaw.
Cool game. 1 bug I found, I had been zooming through the story not researching items or buying items, and had a zombie at near 100% mood, humanity, and low hunger. I had put him through lots of reactions for higher level items. (no terminations in a while) But was going through the low items. So I used an apple. All of a sudden it said my specimen terminated on the apple (not researched at all) and then the game started running through all the reactions for some items in a row. (apple, rat, dead rat, meat, kebab, maybe more)
I loved this game. Can you get 16 or more trucks to escape? It's harder than it sounds :) (double big wheels is best) Check here for tips on maybe beating that score: http://www.kongregate.com/games/nerdook/nuclear-outrun?score=963229 Small tips for best upgrades, +1 into vehicle to get a decent engine, +2 into general to get Ammo Balloons. And put the rest into Weapons. Shark + Big Wheel,Automatic,Big Wheel is also pretty good for getting 2500 meters.
How to get the damned badge: 1) This scoring system is weird. 2) Release the front column of seeds (10) right when the 9th seed in the back appears. 3) Keep doing this. 4) Reload the tab if you screw up to restart quickest. 5) FUDGE this game. 6) Plus this comment if you think this strat is helpful.
The game dev on Kalevala (Nov 2014): http://chainedlupine.com/8-articles/6-lok-post-mortem ''I've been quite pleased with Legend of Kalevala. It is my first major Flash game after a very lengthy lapse of working on games. (My last full-sized game was retro-styled shmup, released back in 2006.) While it's not the largest project I have worked on, it has turned out to be the most successful. I will document how the game was created, the initial jam version of LoK, discuss internals and bug-testing and finally how the game was affected by online piracy.''
I beat the last map with the girl Rose. Her 2nd spell is pretty good when you have no units around, turns a losing situation into a survivable one. Especially since the last enemies have so much HP....
https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fk3h0MfC.png The bosses in this game are a joke. They have no DPS, just giant ridiculous HP, and even if they win, they don't take the win, they just move up and down . Almost like the programmer never imagined someone losing to one lol. Just check the image. Otherwise, a cool game .
Cool game. This game is similar to a rogue-like; since a big part of the game is forcing us to figure things out and make a new file until we find a strategy that works and doesn't get us stuck (aka as death in a rogue like). It is very possible to ruin yourself via making bad ship choices, upgrades, and even wasting EXP on already maxed ships and level caps. (this is a very Protector series mechanic) This does seem to piss people off who think grinding should be able to beat anything eventually. One good tip for people who are stuck, don't necessarily blow up all ships on a level. Save them to level up new ships later on. Since I just started, that's all I got for ya. =P
If you want to make the most money quickest, don't turn lights on and off at the end. You get no combo when turning on and it spends a cycle. Do the door lock/unlock instead. Also the 5th ability in the 3rd row is OP and changes the game. Another bug is to hack a robot when it is going up down a floor, this causes the bot to start attacking when a human goes up/down. Or hack a robot right when it is over a human for huge damage. One last tip is to hack 2 computers on both sides of a floor when you get quick hacking, as the humans will try to run to 1 fail, then can't get to the other.
quick easy badge: Do the tutorial (gets you 90% of your score). Then on stage 1 build at least 5 relays connecting the green things at the top right, to the bottom left buildings. 10 minutes max badge.
