If you want to beat nightmare difficulty, you actually want to expand as little as possible, since more surface area on your walls means more zombies reaching you every day
This game seems to have a unique memory leak problem, if you play for too long at once, it gets prone to frame rate drop and eventually crashing. Simply refreshing the page isn't enough to solve it, you have to just shut it off for like 15 minutes or more if it starts acting up like that.
I like to keep 1 magilancer around as a level 30 "tutor" to help new students get LP. Remember that the majority of the LP goes to the student that got the final blow, so use the magilancer to bring an enemy within inches of death, then let your newbies get the last hit
For mouse control, there should be a button to toggle your currently selected runner to just constantly move towards your mouse until you toggle it off. It's getting fatiguing having to hold down the mouse button the entire time.
well, I figured out the one and only situation where you actually don't want to click "fire" right away. If you are in cover and you engage a zombie group that is at least 75 ish range away from you, you'll notice that the zombies won't start running until you click fire. While the zombies are walking, you can retreat and the zombies won't follow you across the map. Also, if you order your guys to walk backwards, they will match the zombies' walking speed. This means that if you have a vehicle with an explosive cannon, you can walk backwards for 5 seconds or so and THEN click fire, and your cannon will be able to fire right away instead of having to wait.
