Yeah I don't really care too much for the THELs. I hardly used them, if at all. Every time I tried using them, they drained a lot of energy. Pulse lasers do fine for killing close combat, and taking out the supership missiles. And missiles are uber for long range and mothership/supership slaying.
the only reward is experience really...learning how to mine and build defenses...experience/upgrades might be a cool addition for a future sequel, but that would change the feel of the game a lot too
here they are again...my screens for escort mission...http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/8784/tsgmescort01.jpg http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/7425/tsgmescort02.jpg http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/2613/tsgmescort03.jpg http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/6727/tsgmescort04.jpg
@ pappex, it sounds like you pretty much do the same thing as me, so it should work for you. maybe make a few adjustments to where the missiles are, and make sure you have enough money for them to keep firing? I posted screenshots of how I did it, and I've gone back and done it a few times over since posting them, and works every time
Wow...seriously, try reading. Someone just asked if there were any tips and was told to look a few pages back...2 comments before you. You really couldn't even read the last few comments?
But Age of War doesn't have a map, or levels, or nearly as many unit types. It's one screen with a base and defense turrets with technology upgrades, which to me actually makes it more fun. Shame that the 2nd one still hasn't been completed.
I don't know why everyone is calling this a perfect copy of age of war. Age of War isn't the first or only game where you click out troops to meet real time. The only thing that makes it "exactly" like it is that the style/view is very similar.
@ CeruleanDragon - 15-20 basic missiles placed a couple array lengths from the ships path will easily clean out the motherships...I posted some screens on how I did it a few pages back somewhere
@ loony...I used just basic lasers on the escort missions, and nothing but missles on the superships....YW to people I posted the tips and screens for, and anyone else who got use of them.
I went ahead and did one more upload for the final, for anyone who may have been confused about it. Same as the single supership, just building down instead of left, and allowing for the ships' arc.

Yw Tallinn. I did a few escort screens too, per request. I used weapon 2/6 for example. Just do a little adapting with lasers and missles for others where they come from all around.

I don't really know how to make a youtube video for it, but someone did ask me for screenshots, so here's a few I posted for the first supership. For the last mission do the same thing, but building downward instead of to the left.

yes, worked for every escort mission on every difficulty...11 generators in direct line with ship, upgrade only last 4 generators, branches off of them for missle clusters for motherships, and build and sell lasers as needed along the path...also put up 4 repairers between the 8th and 9th generators
and then just sorta throw a bunch of lasers around where it's gonna be when the waves land...once it's beyond those lasers, sell them back...only thing I upgrade are the last 4 generators
kinda hard for me to explain the set up, but basically, I start the escort missions by building a solar generator down from the first one, then build 11 of them out to the right of the first one, all at max spacing
@ sirbattle you beat the superships on crazy, but couldn't do a branch mission? maybe it's just the way I did it, but I found the branch missions to all be fairly easy.
