Lots of people asking for help. This game has too many comments to find all the good answers. Help keep this on top! http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=8947172D6BFBBCA3
There have been tons of good tips, and I even posted screenshots of 4 different levels. Now musicdemon has put up a handful of walkthrough videos on youtube. Keep his link on top so people don't have to go thru pages or keep asking for help. :) http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=8947172D6BFBBCA3
if the various targettingl "issues" were bugs that prevented gameplay, it'd be more valid. But with nearly 750 impossible badges claimed now, I think we can stop whining about the "unfair" game mechanics.
To use rockets effectively against motherships, all you need to do is position them strategically so that motherships are closer to them while swarmers are buzzing around your pulsers further. And build enough of them so that anything between them and motherships are easily removed.
some of you guys just need to learn how to use rockets. They don't shoot off into space, and they don't target little ships. They simply target the nearest thing, and once their intended target is destroyed, they look for the next nearest, and if there is nothing nearby, they continue in a straight path.
I've heard a number of complaints about saves and loading issues. The first time I played it, it was extremely laggy on firefox. Since then, I've only loaded it on Opera, and got all badges with progress still saved, with no issues at all.
@ yaso42 - One regular miner is 80 mpm, so your 3 get 240. One upgraded miner is 200 mpm for 600 total. Upgraded are still less efficient than basic, but not to near the degree your mentioned numbers seem to suggest. The use is really only if you need fast mining and have used up good miner placement. The last mining mission on crazy can be beaten with no turrets by using upgraded miners.
my biggest tip for those with loading/gameplay issues, is to try Opera...the first time I loaded the game it was on firefox, and seemed really laggy for some reason. So that was the only time I did so. Have been playing with zero problems on opera since.
ok, but could use a bit of tweaking with progression...started off pretty slow, and then suddenly flew by in just a few turns going from <1000 per flight to ~50k
don't fully upgrade the generators right away, and build a few repairers and a ring of arrays around the roids with about 10 miners before you do the missiles
@ falch yep, from PS3 :)...trying to redo defense 3 and it's harder than I remember, lol...basically I start with 6 generators around the miner, 7-10 basic lasers, and try to get 10+ missiles out on branches by the time the mother ships come
@ Mannoroth_Demon - The screens I posted for crazy superships definitely works, it's just time consuming. The only trick to the multiples is to go enough ahead so that your missiles don't get caught in the path of the ships as it turns. Other than that, you just learn when to pause, sell, and rebuild missiles. If you follow the spacing, the missiles nearly never get attacked, and keep destroying the swarms in between firing at the supers.
Every time a piece touches another, even on the side, it just drops where it's at, making it impossible to slide them into underneath gaps or beside slightly leaning pieces. Kinda irritating to rip-off tetris play style and then change the physics that you're used to playing it with.
Yes there's supposed to be 3. I've seen several people reference 2, but I think they're just dying before the 3rd comes out. Every time I've gone back and replayed it, there have been 3, including the time I took the screenshots.
eh, nowhere near as good as desktop... basically just an unbeatable survival-mode that gets laggy as you fill up map, and my tower died in 2 hits? wtf is that?
