It's only in the last few days that people have been complaining about the controls, apparently, but the complaints have been numerous. (Do people just notice the complaints of others and follow suit or something?) But what, people, are you actually trying to use the mouse for? The ONLY places that you need to use it are in the inventory and the options. Everywhere else uses the keyboard. So it shouldn't be too difficult to move your hand a bit every time you need to organise or equip items. It's quicker than scrolling through lists with a keyboard-controlled cursor, anyway.

Also, some people have mentioned changing all the menus to keyboard only control... But don't you think it's quicker to quickly move your hand to the mouse and move your cursor to an item, drag and drop it to where you want it, and then move your hand back, than it is to scroll through menus, go to a different "Equip" screen that would be mouse-friendly, etc? Besides, it's good hand exercise or something, moving your hand to the mouse every so often! Anyway, people, if you're complaining about the controls, can you be specific about WHY they're bothersome? Is it "I can't be bothered moving my hand?" (And you expect ME to be bothered spending ages re-coding parts of my game instead?!/1/)

I don't really see why people seem to find the controls awkward at all... I suppose it depends on the positions that people use their computers in, and what games they're used to. I myself can't see how people are complaining about having to press X and Z and use the mouse RARELY. You can have your left hand on the X and Z keys, and your right on the arrow keys; switching to the mouse on the rare occassion that you need to organise your inventory takes a split second and a simple hand movement. How lazy are you people? Consider how much more time and energy consuming it would be if you were actually sorting through items in a backpack, or donning or doffing armour!

In general, a lot of people seem to compliment the writing of the MARDEK series (either that or they ignore it entirely), but every so often someone comes along and tells me it's really bad and that I am clearly not A Writer. But it's bad compared to *what*? A professional quality novel by someone twice my age? Films? Television? Or other free Flash games and RPGs? Also, I'm not A Writer, and nor would I want to be. I don't Write Properly using established conventions and techniques; I merely try to tell a story and have the characters speak as I imagine people might in their situations. Maybe the style is just not to your liking, person? Though it's more probable that you're just one of those types who says the writing's bad to make yourself look good and "above it" and all that... Your approach is wrong anyway; you should try to enjoy what's there instead of being annoyed at what's not.

When is there ever a fire elemental fire that takes more damage from Fire spells than Water ones...? (Also, you can disable the Victory thing from the options if your computer is slow.)

Also, any problems with badge acquiring are caused by your internet connection or the Kongregate server, not the game itself. Usually they're just delayed a bit and appear eventually if you're patient.

Do you feel good about yourself by insulting my work like that? Why don't you just try, y'know, *not playing it* instead if it just doesn't strike your fancy?

Bassium, in what way did the game "glitch"? It doesn't help me to fix things if you don't elaborate when reporting bugs, people. "geni4us", the game wasn't rushed and I put a lot of time into testing and bug-checking; it's just that most of the recently reported bugs are obscure and rely on specific, rare criteria to be met, so neither myself or any of the beta testers encountered them at all. Making this was a massive project, done entirely by myself, and MOST of it, bar a couple of small aspects, is entirely bug-free. Isn't that in itself worth anything? Also, you are aware that "Oh and it should be easy to fix teh saving error by either adding a 100x then /100 when saving/loading or else doing a simple remainder check and correct with 1 as the divisor…. really thats just sloppy to leave in" doesn't make any sense, right? What do you think the "saving error" actually is?

There seem to be several bugs remaining that are difficult to get rid of, but take incredible luck to encounter since they depend on such specific conditions... Well, I THOUGHT they'd require such incredible luck that few people would get them, anyway. But apparently quite a few people are STILL getting them... Sigh. If you encounter any rare bugs like those, make sure you're playing v1.2.0912K (this is specified on the Title Screen), make sure you have the latest Flash player, make sure you allowed Flash to store data if it asked, and refresh the page if you encounter a glitch before loading an autosave! Also check the Known Bugs List, linked to in the Description for this game.

If anyone else sees what they think are spelling or grammatical errors in the text, could you give specific examples? I'm not aware of any myself, but sometimes people mention them, so I'm curious about whether there are ACTUAL errors anywhere, or if people are just noticing intentional spelling or grammar "errors"... (I use those often enough to give certain effects, after all.) If there ARE actual errors though, I'd want to know where they are so then I can fix them!

For those who seem to have problems with the saving, did you allow Flash to store the data it requires? At some point, a box would have come up - a grey box, in a different style to the rest of the game - requesting to store a certain amount of data on your computer. If you deny it, then your saves won't work for obvious reasons. Also, no level grinding is necessary for the World's Saviours. You just need to have some kind of effective strategy... That is, mindlessly hitting them at random won't work in THAT fight. Think about what you're doing!

SevereFlame, that bug is certainly fixed in the latest version. But even if it happened at all, you should be able to join reload a save or autosave where you HAVEN'T lost all of those items, right?

For those of you complaining about how time-consuming it is to skip dialogues: Why don't you try, y'know, actually READING them thar wordy things? I assume you HAVE that ability... Maybe you'll be surprised and will actually enjoy it to some degree. It's a story-based game anyway. If you're going to skip the dialogue, don't bother playing at all.

I've just uploaded an updated version (should be marked V1.2.0912K) which fixes most bugs (I think) and should allow people to get the badges if they've finished the game before they were added... BUT only if they load a saved game which ISN'T from the very, very end (that is, at the final screen which asks if you'd like to save), because that counts as a chapter 3 save.

mattex2, that's a Flash Player/browser issue, not something that I can do anything about. It's not like it would affect anything massively anyway though. sooch, that surely is your monitor, so it'd be best to just adjust the brightness. For all those people who can't get out of menus, turn off Caps Lock!!
