Interesting concept and mildly fun, but a few aspects snuff out the fun for me. Like others have commented, the targeting system for your ninjas is poor, especially in defense mode. And the end game is just tedious. Those two things were my biggest gripes. As a small complaint: while the music and visual theme capture the oriental feel, the upgrades sure don't. Why are my ninjas decked out in full plate and wielding axes?

Fun, but as others have said, it's too short for the amount of upgrades available. However, without more variation in gameplay, I wouldn't like it if the game was simply longer. Varied levels would keep the gameplay interesting while allowing for time to purchase more upgrades.

The ground behaves like it's made out of solid ice, what with me slipping and sliding all over the place. Worst of all, balancing left or right is extremely difficult without sending yourself into some sort of inertia overload that topples you into the direction over and over.

Runs like absolute shit on a computer with low RAM, and I really don't see why that should be the case. Too bad; it's a lot of fun, like the first one.

The Armed with Wings series along with Red Moon are some of my favorites. Stylized art and intense game play. This third installment ranks right up there. As others have said, it's a bit buggy right now, but still superb. If Sun Studios ever gets picked up to make an action platformer on a console, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Most people won't be influenced by it, but I run a very low end computer that can't handle higher graphics quality in most flash games. So it's a major pain that after every level, and after every following cutscene, my manually setting the graphics quality to low gets reset to high every single time. It's a coding error that needs correction, albeit, for a small sample of the people who play this. Otherwise, a mildly fun distraction of a game.

Wow, this was so good and I'm not even a fan of point-and-click adventures. At least not since the 90's with gems like the Monkey Island and Broken Sword series, but this was great. I love the atmosphere. I can't wait for the next episode, and I'm definitely going to give Alice is Dead a shot now that I know Hyptosis was a part of it.

Developer response from Hyptosis

Wow, thanks so much. ^_^

This game is so fantastic. So fun and addicting. I just wish I could play it properly at the later levels. I play on a low end computer and I guess my rig just can't keep up with the massive blood and bullets, even with all graphical settings set to minimum. Too bad. I'd play this over and over if it accommodated to lesser systems, but as it is, I doubt I'll touch it much.

Love the concept of Missile Command meets War of the Worlds. Unfortunately, the dual guns are a pain to aim, even when taking into account the strategy that you need to coordinate your firing of both guns together at times, and switching to a single cannon to focus on one rogue lander pod at others. Plus, the collision detection of my bullets could use some work. It sure is frustrating seeing my bullets go so close that I could swear they touched the edge of a pod and yet there it lands. Finally, for all the ignorant commenters: War of the Worlds is a novel written near the turn of the 20th century. It's origin doesn't lie within a shitty Tom Cruise movie, video game, or even a radio broadcast. Christ.

The original coder for all these "racing" games that use rag doll physics for a motorcycle, without taking into account mass of the vehicle or friction involved, needs to shoot himself. I'm fed up.

Ugh, the physics are absolutely terrible. I love the campaign progression, and the outfits with stat bonuses are lots of fun, but the control and motion of the various vehicles is really poor. I'm sick and tired of having my vehicle slide out from under me or bounce the wrong way and crush me beneath it. Also, make it an option to turn off your previous run's shadow. It gets distracting when you and your shadow are caught up together. And add a restart button! I don't how many times I've had to kill myself due to screw ups that clearly excluded me from accomplishing a race's secondary goals. Above all, fix the god awful physics!

Damn my avatar's giant forehead! But really, game would be much more fun if it relied solely on the rhythm of the music. The variations allowed in dodges, jumps and forward flips tend to offset ones feel for the music. It's during these times that I usually screw up since I'm still hitting keys to the beat.

This is game is tons of fun simply due to being able to import your own music. I had a blast loading up songs and rocketing through the fast paced levels. That said, I wish there was more to the gameplay. Checkpoints, obstacles, anything to make the game more challenging and interesting. Just chaining jumps and collecting squares doesn't do much for me. A couple of other suggestions pertaining to the music: while the intensity of the level changes with faster paced music, I was kind of hoping jumps and/or score powerups would appear based on the rhythm of the music. I don't see how that would be possible with custom music though. Also, I'd like to be able to delete tracks from my "Your Songs" list. Fun game, overall.

Quite a massive step up from its alpha stage. I love the new acquirable items, bestiary, multiple weapon slots, grenades and new enemies. Hell, there's even more new great stuff than that, but that's just off the top of my head. The only thing I was concerned about was the slower pace of enemy attack in this version, as opposed to the alpha. I like it, but only if it scales accordingly. I assume the difficulty is intended to be ramped up as the days grow closer to the '100' mark. Anyways, great job, and plus marks again for being so involved with the community. Also, I'm playing this game on a low end comp with 256 MB of RAM and a GeForce 4 series graphics card and it runs fine on Firefox (with low quality settings in Flash). Anyone experiencing lag needs to change their browser.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised (considering the illiteracy that is the internet), but based on the comments, so few people caught the Lord of the Flies, reference. And yet tons of comments on how great the narrative was. What a shame. I didn't care for the gameplay; the pseudo Tetris-like strategy mixed with an attempt at action/strategy does not sit well with me. None of that genre does. I only comment because the developers obviously took a page or two from William Golding, and it's a damn shame this turned out to be some puzzle/strategy version of a zombie apocalypse that caters to what's popular instead of being something more akin to the real literature of Lord of the Flies that deals with survival, humanity and growing out of childhood. The developers could have tackled all of those things in a survival/strategy game with a narrative that focused on growing up.

Pretty tiring to play. You sink like a stone with no proper control over your character. That alone wouldn't break the game, but there's nothing else offered. The upgrades max out quickly and never remedy the problem of lack of control. I've played other well done games that purposely introduced a limited control scheme but offered other ways to strategize, either through upgrades, careful planning (by way of timed, arcade clicks or long term planning) or otherwise. Relying on luck isn't bad, but that's all this game offers. Blind luck. No entertaining game play in the heat of things, and no real fun toys in between.

I was a big fan on the first Straw Hat Samurai, but the sequel just doesn't do it justice. In the first one, the feeling of badass tranquility as you walked toward opponents only to cut through half a dozen at the last moment in one go is gone in this sequel. Plus, the entire feel is too fast paced, arcade action. I have no problem with fast paced arcade (I love those types), but I feel the slower handling of the first game was much better suited and executed. A fair game, but in my opinion, not nearly the beauty that was the first Straw Hat Samurai.

As others have said, the unique qualities of this game's design earns it high marks. Developers did a stellar job in capturing the cinematic effect of old samurai films. The only thing missing is the over-the-top blood spray at the end and torsos sliding apart. I loved the game, but I do wish the scrolling animation was a bit faster. Quickly checking the position of archers, or oncoming spear or shield wielders would do a lot to help evaluate the field. An unobtrusive mini map might accomplish the same effect. Still, a new favorite for me.

Fantastic game! The action is fluid and it's a joy to gun down enemies. Art and animation are wonderful. A pistol wielding, robot cowboy is so over the top, and great job with the (lack of) narrative to give it that "old school" action feel. Story be damned, we just need an excuse to kick ass with a robot gunslinger, and Berzerk studios knows it. Music is super too; it very much sets the mood. My only gripe is that is could use a better difficulty scale. First play through, the game was a cakewalk up until world 3 when it got a bit more challenging. Still, not much of a problem. Also, leveling up happens very quickly. I maxed out early on. Either add a higher level cap, or just decrease the experience rate. The level up bonuses don't do that much, so increasing overall difficulty would still be best. All in all, great game.
