Wow, everyone keeps parroting the idea of the game Golden Axe. Have any of you even played more than one brawler? Golden Axe was just one early example of a game that spawned an entire genre of beat-em ups. That's like spewing out "LOL, Dune clone" when the original Warcraft launched because it was an RTS. Anyway, this game had potential but the control and design felt kneecapped. I'd prefer a more fluid execution of moves, particularly your most powerful moves are all dashes and jumps, which aren't easily executed while surrounded and when you need them most.

Watching explosions ends up being the bulk of my experience. Seriously, it's fun to watch once or twice for effect, and where I went wrong and edged too close to that pipe, but give us a restart button instead of being forced to watch an area be nuked in a lengthy sequence over and over.

Is the alien lord really just supposed to sit there and be utterly useless? I mean, there's no indicator of its supposed bonus of increasing "nearby" units' attack. Even if there was, he's not moving. So why bother?

Might I recommend more consistent dialogue flow? The intro text auto advancing was bad enough, but conversations during the campaign sometimes advance of their own accord and other times hang, waiting for player input. It's frustration trying to follow a story and having someone turn the page on you prematurely.

It's already been said, but I'll say it again because it's such a drag: the controls are buggy just like the first game. Movement keys stick causing you to run off platforms after you've released the key. Key input lags making timing impossible. It's not ALL the time mind you, but all it takes is one mistake in a game like this. I can't believe this wasn't fixed. The comment section of this first game is littered with this complaint.

So much fun! Reminds me of the old arcade game The Outfoxies. There's no end to the ways you can kill or be killed. I once slashed the rope of a heavy container that was hanging from the ceiling and crushed the poor sap beneath me. You can also activate your bullet time power up and shoot grenades right out of the air. It's a blast, but it should really be played multiplayer for a proper time of it.

The measure of my depleted health is the same color (or close to it) as my remaining health. Why? What's the point of a color-based graphical representation of a character's health if the full and depleted measures look identical. Then again, maybe it's my color blindness. I see red (or maybe green?) for my health meter, and an identical color for the depleted measure. If it's a red/green combo, change it! It's the most common form of color blindness. If it isn't my handicap, change it so everyone can see it better. Either way, it would benefit the game.

Over and over I encountered bugs. Finally, on just the third stage, I encountered a bug where the enemies took no damage. Talk about game breaking. It's too bad, because I was really liking this game.

Terrible controls aside, I just don't get it. So when Ben isn't harnessing alien power in defense of Earth, he likes to spend his free time murdering scores of small birds? But not sparrows, that'd be wrong. I normally wouldn't pick apart story in what is an obvious arcade Flash game, but if you're going to build off a pre-existing franchise, don't create a bird hunting, shooter game based on a cartoon aimed at children with a science fiction theme.

This game was fantastic. Beautiful and detailed artwork, futuristic dystopian setting and old-school beat 'em up gameplay. Anyone saying the gameplay is lacking has no idea what they're talking about. From Double Dragon to Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, old brawler style games are classic, and this game copies that formula wonderfully. It's too bad about the music, though. The game does feel a bit hollow without a soundtrack. Some extra sound effects could help too, like heavy mech footsteps when running. Some other things I'd like to see if there's ever a future installment: a jump maneuver (with a corresponding air attack), perhaps a dash move for dodging (also with a dash attack), and maybe pick up and use some environmental objects as weapons. Lobbing a car at an enemy would be satisfying. Really great game as it stands.

I'm sorry, but this is more half-assed capitalizing on a cheap internet meme. I could rage all day about nyan cat and the accompanying Hatsune Miku song, but personal opinions aside, I'm playing a barely functional platformer. I don't see it offering much in the way of game play. Flash games like these are turning out to be the internet equivalent of console games based on movies. Remeber the Robocop, Shrek, or E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (God help us) games? Seriously, maybe Devs should just stop flooding the net with games based on anything that seems popular for more than a week, lest we end up with a dump truck full of thumb drives containing Flash games like this one.

Eh, I had high hopes but this should have been better. Simplistic controls and easy to execute. You can crush pretty much anything that comes at you. And while I'm not one to be hung up on graphics, if your game is representing personal duels between great swordsman, I do expect more than just round dots bouncing off each other. Kind of killed the mood for me.

I know both commenters and the developer have made remarks on the sliding physics of the platforms (and it is a problem), but I just wanted to say that I really like the direction of this game despite its control issues. I won't be playing much of this game because of it's controls, but the puzzle aspect and level designing were great. Just wanted to give the dev and everyone who liked the concept and effort of this game a vote of confidence for future endeavors.

If I were a parent, I would think dress up games to be shallow lessons in narcissism. If I were an eight-year old girl, I would think dress up games to be boring, empty extensions of the imagination involved in playing with actual dolls and creating stories. I guess I don't get it.

Looks like a lot of fun, and I'm seriously not knocking it, but red/green color blindness is the most common form of color blindness. That includes me, and I'm bit confused when I play. Sadly, I'm at a big disadvantage for a fully color based game.

I've tried this before and felt it needed a load of work, but now that I've revisited it, I can't believe I even put up with the automatic progressing of the tutorial. This game desperately needs a manual skip option so the player can actually read the help dialogue in the beginning of the game. As it is, I simply can't be bothered to re-learn everything.
