Since the continental club update, I've encountered bugs that made me take a break from this game for a couple weeks. I was downtrodden, but I submitted the bug reports and low and behold, my return is triumphant and bug free! Great job siread!
I love the Sengoku 3 levels. Feels like a great brawler but it could use a pause button and access to the game options during play, including options to restart or head back to title. Also, it's pretty buggy. Music cuts out whenever I use my "power up" move with A-shi (default "O" key, where you gather energy). Experienced a few other bugs, one being a game breaker that left me stranded in the level. I reported them, so I hope things get cleaned up a little. Still a lot of fun.
I really liked the original Necrorun, though it had it's share of problems. Gripes and praises in no particular order: In this incarnation, level design is greatly improved; I'm no longer encountering any cheap moments when the randomness of obstacle placement makes it impossible for me to make a jump. Combo system is also a lot more forgiving. Maybe the Jumping mechanic is my biggest gripe. It's clunky and odd to execute, rather like the original. But the music is fantastic (like the original), and thanks for the link to the download. Sadly, graphics have taken a hit. Why? Finally, an upgrade system is probably what everyone wants. I personally liked the strictly arcade feel of the original, but I recognize that most will appreciate the ability to buy upgrades. Even still, the game plays and feels arcade, and the upgrades seem a little useless for the most part.
"Lolita" princess? Are you kidding me? Go read Nabokov's novel and try to tell me with a straight face that this is an appropriate title for this game.
Why isn't there a high score entry? I mean, I see the high score list but there's no option to submit my own scores. And what's the point of achievements if there's no menu to view what you have and havn't unlocked?
Simple, but cute and fun enough for what it tries to do. It's a launch game aimed a younger audience. I played this with my five year old niece and we had a blast.
I've never played the prior games in this series, but this one is WAY too easy. Half way through I had all the best upgrades and no reason to spend any more. Even in the beginning I was consistently earning twice, or even three times to target goal. With no challenge I'm bored by just endlessly clicking away. Also: memory leak. Fix it.
A well done, Contra inspired game. It's both challenging and fun, and balanced on the level with the original Contra. Whenever I lose I can't wait to start back up. I look forward to a full version.
Well based on all the comments I know no one agrees with me, but someone has to say it: the song is absolutely horrible. Well, except maybe for that guitar solo around the middle. But ugh, the rest of it just echoes teenage radio trash. Or bad anime.
I admittedly gave up after five minutes of gameplay because that monster of a "jeep" steers like a Buick with twice as much mass and no power steering. I checked out the upgrades but I didn't see anything that would make my maneuverability easier down the road. I'd really prefer the vehicle didn't turn like a brick.
You really just need to get used to it. There is nothing difficult or wrong with controls in game for those who have ever played any game that requires WASD.
Sadly, quite a few bugs in this game. Quick tip: on mission 2, do NOT make the last kill a silent kill. The side objective is to perform a silent kill, so you'd naturally want to neutralize everyone else before attempting a final silent kill. Don't. The henchman will not drop the cellphone you need to complete the level.
Ugh, I tried. I really did. The game wasn't that great, but I pressed on. And after level after level I just can't clean myself of being smeared with one giant advertisement. I need to lie down. Or buy a Pentax camera.
Mildly sexist? Yes. Vaguely entertaining? Yes. Partial nudity (or full for that matter) doesn't enhance mediocrity, so I don't see what all the fuss is about. Still, I had a laughable time with this for the fifteen minutes or so that it lasted.
The absolute most annoying part of this game is how you can eliminate enemies and have no time left to collect your stars or hostages. Massively frustrating when you formulate an expert plan, pull it off, and then have the level end just as you're moving toward your last star.
Wow. Terrible control scheme for rotating your view. The fact you have to hold your mouse (which is also your aiming reticule) at the edge of the screen to turn makes combat a slow chore and an unfair mess. Too bad, it could have been fun.
Love the game, but can the interface be more streamlined? Really, I feel confused trying to navigate through the menus. Menu hierarchy should be static. There's a lot of menus, and when I'm trying to sift through statistics, I don't need the icons at the bottom changing with every new screen. I never know where I am, or how to get back to the previous screen.
