Considering this is cycling (lol), a great game. Very playable for all skill levels, kept me involved for a couple of hours trying to get all the badges. 5/5.
For maniac, just pause and quit and you'll "die" within the ten seconds. A fun game, I always am a sucker for achievement based games.
But . . . the lag is killing me. Quality toggling, sound off, something needs to be done so it isn't jumpy. Getting too frustrating to go after all the achievements.
Other strategy tips, try to move as little as possible at first, going only for the power ups and the baddies that come after you. You do most of the damage to yourself by moving around too much.
I also completed all the levels and am showing I'm done only to 34, with no badge! That is a bummer.
There are tricks to all the levels, usually something that makes you go "doh!" when you figure one out that seems too tough, but really is doable.
Had 95 awards, then lost them all. Didn't clear cookies or anything. Took this from a 5 star, fun time waster to a 2 start mass frustration. I has played hundreds of games in pursuit of those awards, and now they are gone. Forget this game and boo to the "hard" badge here. Too much time commitment that just get deleted randomly. And yes, I'm bitter.
Had it rated a 4, but then twice computer saved about 10 levels back from where I got to. Very frustrating to try to get to level 50, and have to restart 10 levels back (twice) when you are almost there. 3/5 now. BTW, jayisgames has some walkthroughs that are helpful for the game.
We want badges!!!!!! One of the best games ever on Kongregate. Love customizability, love the chance to earn body parts and gain levels, love the competition. Wouldn't change a thing. Took Platform Racing, already a good game, to a whole new level. 5+/5
Thanks shadowstallion. Odd thing is I also got ending song and badge without doing anything. Best case scenario is poor loading game with glitches, then over in 30 secs, but a goofy song. Yecch. 1/5.
*Spoiler Warning* The "Flood Them with Spearmen" Strategy to Guarantted Success: 1. choose a race with spearmen (i like Undead); 2. spend all your money on spear and speed upgrades (favoring spear); 3. pick a lane and send spearmen in a single lane as quickly as possible holding down the space bar the whole time; 5. Ignore what the opposition does, let their guys through, you are putting guys into play quicker; 6. Use your charge (Q) when you can.
Really enjoyable. It was compelling enough to keep me busy for a couple of hours - not an action game with great graphics, but really nice design. Will appeal to D&D vets who enjoy equipping and building characters, but not to 1st person shooter types. For what it tried to be, very successful. 4/5.
Man, I'd love a good flash football game, but this isn't it. Gimme one with good plays to choose from, simple gameplay, some strategy - graphics dont have to be killer. Gameplay here is lacking, passing doesn't work great, plays are limited. There are so many of the old console based games that would work great for flash . . . Come on developers, feed me!!!
Best I can say is not bad. Gameplay is just lacking, though design is good. Too hard at beginning and flying bosses are nearly impossible, even at advanced stages - too hard to get enough advanced defense units in the line of single flying boss. Even using cheat (press A-E on assassin) to get great defenses, without assassin, cant beat flying bosses. 2.5/5.
Great game, though I'm spending too much time building my rank. Some tips: 1) buy lives often to avoid losing progress when you die. Its easy! 2) save up for a hyperspace engine ($50kish), its makes travel painless and makes it easy to raise $ with courier missions. 3) ship upgrades arent as important as weapons, get a basic ship with lots of weapon capacity, good sheilds (like Defender) and build it up and keep it until great ships become available at high levels. Great game! 5/5.
Great game. But . . . first boss is too hard. Need JUST the right upgrades to win, too finicky. Have to completely restart game to get right upgrades to defeat, wasting ton of time. And the badges . . . the medium one is hard, the hard nearly impossible and forget about the impossible. Make 'em easier, Greg!
Simple, but I cant stop. Extra star to 4/5 for such making such a basic game so addictive. Some suggestions: make it easier to turn the triangle, include some sort of challenge/badges for achievement, points for using less shapes, etc.
