The completely random "human" one was a bit much... I had to force it with 2 blocks to make sure we were on sync with me pushing the door shut while it was trapped and then wait for like 20 minutes trying different configurations to get him to stupidly walk into the friggen box. WAY too hard and no sense at all... but I guess "move around in a completely random pattern" is more dumb than it is hard... Overall kept me entertained but some levels were WAY too hard (level 4) and others way too easy...
You are too right. This was part of the Ludum Dare competition that just ended. I was honor bound to not tweak it during the judging. However, that is over I am going to fix level 4 and the derp levels. Thanks for playing.
I could see how this would be a cool game as multiplayer... one person could be the "virus" and the other the anti-virus... One person would have a ability to destroy tiles (on a cooldown) and they'd set bombs or something which would delete the squares and of course the other player would collect the capsules to heal...
Apparently equipment "levels up" while you play, so the longer you have a piece of equipment the more stats it gives you even though the "stats" shown on the item never change. I've confirmed this by finding an exact duplicate item of one I was carrying and equipping it, and losing stats even though the items were supposedly the same...
The magics in the game have the following combos: Fire + lightning = explosion; fire + ice = gem; ice + lightning = poison; fire+ice+lightning = chaos. Chaos magic is the best that I found in the game and if you pick up any other magic while you have chaos, that magic replaces chaos.
I tried to complete the game without purchasing any upgrades and I couldn't... last room is just impossible without upgrades... you either spend all your time killing infinitely spawning red cubes, or you try to kill the spawners or the green cubes and get swarmed... I was kind of disappointed that even with enough skill you couldn't do it... still 5/5 though. One last thing, the hit detection of the guy is a little bit dodgy... that is all.
Every time I died trying to get the 3rd star, I considered knocking the rating down a star... but then by the end you'd have a negative 60 star rating... and that's just not possible. 4/5 if only for that seemingly impossible to get star. The control in this game REALLY are picky about jumping. Aside from the obvious faults I feel like this is a good game for the amount of time and servers as an excellent proof-of-concept... now make a bigger game with metroidvania aspects (I'm thinking high-jumps and double-jumps and whatnots...) with some interesting level design and better graphics and this will easily be a top game on kong.
Powerful optimism. Platformers aren't my best medium to start with, but double-jumps and whatnots are pretty easy to implement. It would make level design more fun, and open up more possibilities, especially with the boxes. I should consider a follow-up game :)
Not bad... I agree however that being able to use the arrow keys would drastically improve the play-ability of some level. I got the gold medal so... 5/5
Great game. Kept me entertained until the end. Died once on the last boss when he got a couple lucky breaks with the multi-balls, I like that death had no penalty there... would have ragequit if the game had to be redone just because I died once. XD 5/5 but would like to see a polished version, maybe even with more levels and more metroidvania aspects... maybe a stronger sword (because honestly once I got the bow I never touched the sword again) and maybe some enemy AIs that don't just ran straight at you... (like maybe, enemies that strafe to try to get behind you...) I constantly kept looking behind me expecting something to try to approach me from behind, but it never happened...
The only thing I'd really like to see would make it a much different game but ultimately much more fun... I would like it if instead of picking up wrenches to repair random areas, that you'd pick up repair "ammo" and you could fire repair "bullets" to fix holes in the ground. So it'd be more like combating the virus... Good game so far though, 4/5
