Gold and silver nodes drop iron ore still... intended?

Developer response from Disruption

Hi! It's a known issue, basically it was not yet there as there is no recipes using gold or silver yet anyways. The new floors or the mine are still WIP, there is still a new enemy pending for the fourth floor, as well as treasure chests with more money, equipment, and recipes (If you see, there are no chests at all in those floors). The ore issue will be fixed in a patch in an hour or two to allow people to start collecting them :) Cheers! Dis. EDIT: It should be fixed now :)

Found 2 fatal errors / crashes so far. First if you go to the mine when you're 6 (something about pushback). Second if you mine a rock while entering a battle (something about a bitmap). Both cause errors that you can't get out of so you have to refresh.

Developer response from Disruption

Hi! We are able to easily reproduce the second one (Sorry!) and we will fix it in tomorrow's update. I have tried going to the mine when I'm six and I didn't get any issue though. Does it happen always or is there any way to reproduce it easily on the web build? Cheers and thanks for the reports! Dis.

Upgrades, I feel, get too expensive too quick. Case in point: I currently have 100 total upgrade points (0 unspent). My next upgrade costs 62 upgrade points. That is 62% of all the points I've earned in all of the runs I've done total playing the game so far (hooray for easy numbers!) That seems a little bit imbalanced considering I'm still not making more than 3 stars per run (I'll need to do 21 3-star runs to be able to afford the next upgrade which may or may not even be something useful towards my overall progression).

Protip: You can save your game before re-rolling upgrades and if you don't get any upgrades you want, simply load your saved game (in order to load a save, you must refresh the game and do it at the loading screen). Make sure to put your save somewhere safe (like in a Notepad++ window) so that you don't accidentally copy over it with something else.

@TheBetterProphet - Yes it did. Check all of your inventory slots. The icon itself is just a bunch of black dots (bug?) but it is still there and use-able.

@Lloyd_Majere - You say my logic is flawed yet you've offered no reasoning to back up your claims. I have the math and a degree in business to back up my claims that the upgrades are nearly worthless. I did the math and I earn 9,092,873 Gp / day currently. The upgrade I talked about previously would increase that to 9,112,621 - an increase of 19,748 (0.2% - That's right, not even a 1% increase in earnings total). If 1 upgrade is less than 20k upgrade a day, I highly doubt you make 20m a day since I make less than 10m (since that'd be an estimated 500 upgrades at the rate of 20k per upgrade). I've done the math again (from a different approach calculating actual earnings) and it still says it'd take 672 and a half days to pay itself off. Now, where is your proof?

@Lloyd_Majere - Basically all the points you made are either very minor or irrelevant to the topic. 1) XP doesn't matter. Xp/level barely serve a purpose in the game any more. Once you've done all the quests (I have) exp and levels are irrelevant. 2) Synergy plays a very small role when you're farming gold at Royhille since you can only have 2 skills synergize there. I don't think there is a better place to farm gold but feel free to test me on this. 3) How many skills you can have at once is also irrelevant. All that matters is how long an upgrade takes to pay itself off -- until it DOES, the upgrade has actually caused a NET LOSS in gp. If the upgrade never paid itself off, it would NOT be an upgrade. Also 14m takes several days at current end-game rates (not that it matters). 4) Speculation. Irrelevant for current game-play. Also my math WAS DONE using a 2x gold multiplier. If you're farming in an area with less than 2x, it'll take even longer.

Part 2/2: Dividing the upgrade cost by the increase in earnings per second gives us the time it will take (in seconds) for the upgrade to "pay itself off" / start earning profit. 13,280,000 / 0.228571 = approximately 58100000 seconds. That is, 1 year, 307 days, 10 hours, 53 minutes, and 20 seconds. That's right. That upgrade will basically NEVER earn me a profit. It is so hilariously bad of an upgrade that I might as well never purchase it. I have reached the end of the game as far as that upgrade is concerned. It might as well not even be coded into the game because it is, more or less, a lie.

Part 1/2: This comment is something of a 'bug report' in that I believe your upgrade math is, for lack of a better word, wrong. Gold income increases at higher levels are ridiculously small / hilariously bad. For example: To increase one of my 'money making' objectives (Fishing) it costs 13.28 million gp. I have 2 other similar skills upgraded so I know the value per bar fill will increase from 510gp per fill to 592gp per fill. While this increase (82 gp / 13.85%) seems like an OK value (very small but seemingly acceptable), the skill bar, once upgraded, will take 40 second to fill instead of 35 (an increase of 5 seconds / 12.5%). This means that earnings per second (calculated as the amount earned per fill divided by the seconds it takes to fill the bar) only increases by 0.22857 / sec. Here's the math as proof: 510/35 = 14.57143 (current earnings per second) 592/40 = 14.8 (future earnings per second) 14.8 - 14.57143 = 0.22857 (increase in earnings per second)

My only complaint is the fact that there are quests that require you to die. Beat the game (spoilers: got the portal to the party room) without dying once, then went back and tried to die but it took me literally 5 minutes to die once because I was so powerful at that point. Gave up on TRYING TO DIE because there wasn't any point to playing anymore. 4/5

Once you figure out you need to kill the little priests at the same time (so they don't just revive each other) the last boss is super easy.

A good concept but a bit lacking in execution. Whereas the concept garners a 5/5, the execution is only a 3/5 at best. I feel like the fact that all of the enemies are just mobs and have no AI (I feel it'd be better if there was some sort of enemy that actively tracked the ship and tried to kill it). Also, not reseting the fuel as previously stated, just makes redoing levels more frustrating and not particularly any more difficult or fun. I feel like there's also really no puzzle element to this game as all of the routes are fairly obvious at least and at most, a couple attempts at trial and error can blast you through to the solution. 4/5 overall but could have been 5/5 with a few improvements.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews that the game does drag on a little too long without anything new. Abundance of money late-game without purpose. Also, ninjas are stupidly over-powered because they attack the the very edge of the screen, so even with perfect defenses they will still hit you before you can kill them. I would also have liked the ability to switch my main hero to one of my sidekicks (switch the character I can control) once I've obtained them which might have allowed the game a little more variety in the short run.
