The learning curve isn't THAT bad. I mean, the one main thing different than other lane-based defense games is the ability to move your guys from one lane to another.
@ farmaster: I know that the game shows you how much profit you're getting, and sometimes it messes up and doesn't say anything. But you shouldn't need it there to tell you that if you sell it for a higher price than you bought it, then it's a profit.
@ DnvnQuinn: If you sell your current ship, the price for a new ship goes up because when you go to change ship, it includes trading in your current ship in the listed price.
If you right click to upgrade a 3rd time, it gets stuck so you have no choice but to sell so that you can right click to upgrade other towers. ZZZZ after nearly 20 levels, nothing getting around first corner still, with several hundred money to spare. It's basically an idle game, in desperate need of at least a fast forward option.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll release new versions to fix these bugs, new balance system (it's not balanced at all), new enemies, towers.
Thanks again.
Ah, I see the cash for powers was just added tonight. Good to see developers listening to complaints. Still, did you revamp the entire game easy rather than just level 1 and 2? People were crying a few days ago about difficulty and here I beat it all in one try. It's a good start, with as much upgrading as many other games of the type. It could use a little more expanding tho, with tower selection, and maybe purchase more tower placements as well.
It might not be the best defense game, but it's much better than some I've seen recently.
@ 16779846541: I beat it first try rather easily. Just built a few of each towers, upgraded. Maybe you didn't understand how to use mouse abilities?
@albertros753: also didn't understand mouse abilities? you do end up with more money than you need, but there is something you can always spend it on.
Ok, so, I must be missing something here. I upgrade a few times, and computer puts out a few blobs. Next thing I know, they're covering the screen, and he's upgraded just as much as I have. His blobs just keep growing and growing and my upgrades can't help me put a small dent in his.
It's cute. Not bad looking or sounding for a minimalistic game. But it's also rather boring pretty quickly, and with no real goal or purpose. So basically an idle game, and I'm not sure how a more full version would expand enough to change that game play feel without just redesigning the whole idea.
Yeah, the "how to play" tells you to click and drag the circle. Like a sling-shot kind of motion. But it's not the best example of that type of control. I'd say it'd be nice if there were a button to start over, but then I realized I didn't want to play again.
So, in order to prove that the way to restore the heartstone is through peace and unity, I set out to do kill quests for the Alliance. And the way of the warders is peace until pushed to do otherwise, so I should go prove my worth by doing a couple kill quests against the magicians. I really do love these games, but this restoration story is tired and the peace vs. war story doesn't work at all with the game design.
Looks nice. Easy to understand. Plays well. Cut scenes are cool, well done. But now I'm out of energy, and will likely never experience any of this content again, or enjoy the rest of the work that went into it.
This is the first game that brought me to Kongregate almost 5 years ago, after a game update added the Kongregate business card to the background. Sad that it's just been left not working for over a year. Still works fine on handdrawngames.
It does have some strategy. Units all have strengths and weaknesses, so you can change them up each wave. This is also good for letting certain skills recharge. But yeah, definitely needs some checkpoints or level select system. It takes way too long for way too little reward to have to play from the start every single time when you're trying to upgrade all your bottom row units.
