@ raging, what upgrade game ISNT just about grinding? You fail a level, you get more xp, you upgrade, you beat the level, repeat until you can get to the end...
It would be nice if I could stop failing missions when no enemies survived. Seems like maybe when they hit my ship and blow up, it's not counting them as dead.
@craftsman465: I don't know who you are to decide what constitutes a valid complaint, but you didn't even respond to what I said. I never suggested they were essential for gameplay, or that people don't deserve money for games. I only said that I find that the premium prices were ridiculous for what you're buying.
Wow... I love the Bloons TD games and was excited to see this one. But after seeing all the ridiculous priced premium, I almost don't want to play it. Charging a little for a boost on a TD is one thing, but $25 for a discounted item combo pack and up to $100 for some in-game money? Getting silly.
This game would be a lot of fun and be worth returning to, if the top scoring person (by a HUGE margin) in the one and only game I played, weren't making very high, very fast leaps across the map, one-shotting people from several yards away with a big hammer...
But Mozai, it's made by synapse!!! Heh, would be a fun game to play, but the first time I have to either stop or buy fuel will be the last time I play it.
Not sure what I think. I guess it could be fun for a bit, but I wouldn't pay for it. It's like something between EVE and Pirate Galaxy, minus good graphics, plus on top of premium items, you can also pay rl money to make training times go away. But I guess according to armorbomb, it's ok to make pay-for-premium if you previously made a top game he likes, heh...
I bought the full version but haven't played all the way through it yet. I can tell you so far, that just completing the cave through the mountain to the right of where the demo ends, I've opened a handful more upgrades, 3 more classes, and the game is already a little more than doubled in size without getting into the area with green waters.
To combine and update previous comments... One, the exchange is cool, but annoying that you made the first two resources needed for each other. Two, boosters are the only big upgrade you need. I played thru again, and flew to the end in 10 days with just 2nd best booster, and nothing else upgraded but 4th fuel and shield.
Secondly, all you really need to upgrade to full are boosters. Didn't upgrade wings or hull at all, and engine/wheels to like 4. I had fuel, boosters, and shields to full when I reached the end, but full fuel was a complete waste of resources, and shields don't have to be full, but it helps to have a good amount.
A couple things.... First, I liked the exchange system, except for the fact that the first two resources are used to make each other, thus hurting it's usefulness and causing you to have to save up a ton of one thing anyway.
So yeah, elevators aren't really anything to complain about unless you don't know how to use them. Someone mentioned Theme Hotel, but the thing with that is, it uses the space for the elevator shaft. In this game, you can expand the elevators to go as high as you like, and put them on every segment without taking away the office space behind them.
Also, I had the "dissappearing floor" glitch happen once, which was easily fixed by exiting and reloading the save. One thing the game really needs tho, is a zoom feature and less lag, because I'll never complete a full height tower with the current gameplay. It's just too annoyingly slow to fill it in once you've got a successful short tower going.
A quick tip for some of you who, based on the comments, are clearly not aware: You can click the top arrow of an elevator shaft and drag it to make it larger than 2 stories...
So here I am over a year later, playing to get reds again, after another reformat. It's becoming something to look forward to in reinstalling windows, heh. Really wish you guys would make another installment. :)
Is this version just for Kong, or does it connect to servers with people playing from other locations? When I went to use my Kong name, it said it was already taken.
While there's no real action, games like this can be entertaining for a minute. But now I'm at the point where I have to wait to play, so I'm done. I'm not going to play a game that makes me wait to play, unless I pay, and where the top players are just the ones with the biggest wallets.
You can easily get to the 2nd boss without any weapon upgrades, and only takes a few times through to get enough starting gold to start with the highest loot item. After that it just flies by. It would be a lot better with more upgrades and if the game itself were a bit longer. Overall the game was fun and pretty cool, just kinda easy and gets old fast.
After I finished this game, I clicked on the "play bonus levels" button which opened the game on candystand.com in a new tab. After playing a couple levels I walked away, 5 minutes later looked over and had pop-ups from one of those fake anti-spyware viruses that hijack your computer called "personal shield pro." Just sayin.
