Anyway, I'm glad to see this is getting more, uh, not-negative comments and ratings now that the initial flood of Instant Gratification casual gamers are gone... Thank you!
For those of you who continue to have lag even when setting the storage to Unlimited, I can't really think what else it would be other than your computers... Do you have OLD computers or laptops or something? Only a small few people seem to have that kind of lag, so I can only assume it's something specific to you people...
Constructive criticism is criticism that also suggests a SOLUTION to the problem. 'I don't like it!' suggests no such solution at all; how do I make it so you WOULD like it? Is it possible? If not, then don't say anything at all. The best comments are the ones that I can USE to improve the game... though is some general non-sarcastic civility and manners too much to expect from people these days?
Comments like that are not constructive at all and really make me wish there were laws in place to punish such deliberately irritating behaviour or something... agh. Trolls.
Thank you, though, to those of you who are supporting this game and understanding what it is meant to be. You are the ones who keep me going with this game-making stuff!
The lag seems to be related to the Kongregate chat, NOT spyware and it's very insulting that anyone would assume something like that. As for why setting storage space to 'unlimited' fixes it, I just don't know, but as I said, the lag only seems to occur with the Kongregate chat anyway (if you run the game on another site or locally, it runs fine). Did you even TRY the solution or just say 'well, it SHOULDN'T need unlimited storage so it has spyware'? Agh... People.
If you are still having 'lag spikes' or similar, is it because you have an old computer? Or perhaps something else is running in the background that causes them? I'm pretty sure now that it's not the game itself though... or rather, it may be in a 'it's too complex for your computer' sort of way, but it works fine for most people.
Also, I included the thing on the title screen that contains the solution to the lag, but people are still complaining about that? Do they just close the 'PLEASE READ THIS!!' box and continue or something?
The spike collisions are 'forgiving'; you only get hurt by a small box within the 'centre' of the spikes. This means you don't get hurt if you graze your foot or head on them, only if you hit them solidly. There are no times where you get hit when you 'don't even touch them'.
Because UP is used for LADDERS too, and having climbing ladders with A is just silly, as is having the ladder and jump button be the same when precision is important.
The skulls in room 22 are actually supposed to be 'scattered randomly about the wall', with the OTHER thing on the wall - not them - being the clue you should take note of... so, uh, yes!
Also, what would be 'hard' but NOT 'cheap'? I see people mentioning things like this a lot, but I get contradictory comments about Raider regarding it. Some people loved the first one because they said it was a refreshing CHANGE from 'cheap difficulty', whereas others seemed to say it WAS cheap... Of course, the latter types never bothered to be more specific, which leads me to believe whether they just think 'I can't do it, so it's cheap'...?
I personally happen to feel that the 'jumping parts' in any game are more enjoyable than whatever else there may be, and I like games like, say, *Tomb Raider* - which is all about acrobatic jumping - more than games about mindless violence. So I tried to include what I personally like in this game. It's just unfortunate that games are moving more away from jumping skills and more towards combat 'skills' or something...
It has a low score because the current generation of players was raised on games like 'press the button to win!', whereas this is aimed at people who grew up with NES games or something...
